Dr. Faith Alcazaren obtained her Bachelors of Science in Biology at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. A Thomasian physician at heart, she completed her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and trained in Pediatrics at the Univeristy of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital. A diplomate of the Philippine Pediatric Society, she has since been in practice for 8 years, seeing sick and well child patients. She is a firm Unang Yakap and breastfeeding advocate and utilizes evidence-based medicine in her practice. She has been a resource specialist for several @smartparenting articles and has been tapped as resource speaker for various fora for moms and children.

Channeling her passion for child development and brain building through imaginative open-ended play, she founded @manilawoodentoys, a passion project that has also given more opportunities for Filipino craftsmen to hone their craft and showcase Filipino workmanship in toy making. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 

More importantly, her greatest passion project is her family. Despite all these roles, she still is, first and foremost, a loving wife to a neurosurgeon, and a mother of two kids, 8 and 4 yrs of age.
